MENTORING POSITIVES
Mentoring Positive was our 3rd quarter grant winner for 2020. They have 3 primary organizational goals: (1) expand and align their youth programs, (2) grow Off the Block to employ more kids and provide them with sustainable funding, and (3) engage their youth directly in community building in the Darbo-Worthington Neighborhood.

The 100 Men of Dane County grant of $90,000 will enable their organization to reallocate 10 hours of senior staff time per week for 2 years away from perennial fund-raising and grant writing to give more complete attention to making Off the Block a viable business and building the curriculum of MP University. Once established, they believe OTB and MPU will generate sustained funding through commercial sales and larger renewable contracts with the state and county correction system and Madison public schools. 100 Men funds would also enable them to hire a female youth mentor at half-time for 2 years and purchase a dependable minivan to transport youth from Darbo to FEED Kitchens and to curbside sales throughout Dane County (when it is safe to do so). Who will benefit? Their youth. They are always their number one priority.
