Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is a hunger-relief charity organization whose goal is to make sure everyone in southwestern Wisconsin has enough of the right kinds of food to live a happy and healthy life.

We accelerated our Q2 grant in response to the impacts of COVID-19 and proudly announce that Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is the recipient of a $100,000 grant. Second Harvest’s immediate rapid response and incredible fortitude during this time of need is commendable. We are proud to support such an incredible organization, their staff and the clients they serve. Our mission to serve at-risk youth is made possible by the generosity of our members and caring organizations like Second Harvest.

In response to COVID-19, Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin set a goal of distributing 100,000 boxes of food to those struggling with hunger. The $100,000 donation from 100 Men of Dane County will provide 10,000 care boxes that will feed families here in Dane County.

Food distribution - they distribute millions of pounds of food each year through their network of partner agencies and programs.

Promotion of government programs - they help people in our community understand and apply for government programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which is called FoodShare in Wisconsin and used to be called the food stamp program. Through their FoodShare Outreach they help thousands of people receive FoodShare benefits each year; providing millions of meals!

Promote hunger awareness - they believe that building awareness of the thousands of people in southwestern Wisconsin who don't always know where their next meal will come from is the first step to ending hunger.
